Casting this spell, which requires intimate knowledge of the
anatomy of the ear, returns the hearing of the target, if they
are even just moderately hard of hearing. While this works
wonders if the problem is physiological, it does nothing for
those suffering from environmental problems. Some rooms are
just too loud to hear anything in them, while others are so
isolated from their surrounding environment that no sounds
get through.

The knowledge of aural anatomy required to learn this
spell also results in an odd artifact: the same spell may
be used to cure several other hearing problems as well,
such as hearing echoes, a ringing in the ears, or extreme
sensitivity to sound.

Recent research by the cleric guild of Newbatia has discovered
that this spell can be used on anyone in the same room as the
caster, including oneself.
