Creatures can be resurrected from the dead by certain spells to
do the caster's bidding. Only the caster's will and magic keeps
them alive, if so such poor existence may be called. With time,
the spells run out of power, and the undead creature returns to
the chaotic realm from whence it came. This process can be
hastened by snapping the ephemeral bonds between the undead
servant and its master, with the help of 'banish undead' spell.
Wherever the undead creatures are, in whatever disguise, form,
and state, once the spell takes effect, they will dissipate into
so many bits (or so many rings of smoke, as the case may be with
wraiths, ghosts, and those creatures that inhabit the astral plane).
