Only the most fervent monks are able to harness the power of kensai.
During the training, they are taught to focus their mind and their
inner strength more efficiently and attain a state of absolute clarity
and strength more quickly than their less zealous brethren.

The ancient art of Kensai was developed by the monks of the Ch'ung Kuo
School of the Tiger out of a need for greater speed in delivering their
deadly attacks. First seen by outsiders in the Battle of the Mourned
in the year 481, Kensai was quickly copied and adopted by monks
throughout the land. Unfortunately, while well-trained, monks taught
outside of the School of the Tiger are not versed in the complete art of
kensai and may find that they are unable to control their inner strength
for much more than a few rounds, possibly even damaging themselves if
they attempt to hold on to this focused state beyond the limitations of
their ki.
