Toggle "concise mode". When in concise mode, you see a summary version of the
people and monsters in each room. Also, messages regarding the visual effects
of spells on those people are suppressed. The exception is dead or dying
people or monsters, who are still displayed as normal. This mode can be
useful if you are traveling with an extremely large group; it puts the
messages describing the comings and goings of the group into a shorter form.
Finally, it provides summaries only when other people in the room are
manipulating large amounts of equipment with "get all", "remove all", etc.
