There are several different types of poisons. All come in a jar of some
sort that must be brewed like a potion or bought at an alchemist's shop.

IOCAINE: This is a damage-causing poison. It is odorless and colorless.
PERCODAN: This poison momentarily numbs the target.
MACEDON: This poison has been known to impair the victim's senses.
RYODINE: This poison makes the target lethargic and slow in action.
PRODEX: This poison by nature neutralizes magical energies of the victim.
SPIRITSEEKER: This poison damages the very essence of even incorporeal victims.

Some monsters have poisonous bites or use poisoned weapons. If you have
been poisoned by one of these, you will feel sick and slowly suffer more
damage even once you're out of combat. Eventually poison wears off by
itself, but you may be dead by that point (see "help death"). Your best
bet is to get a cleric to cure you with the "remove poison" spell, or buy
a potion that does the same.
