A bard may have a lovely and compelling voice, but an appearance so
ugly that most everybody would flee head over heels without a second
glance the bard's way. On the other flute, a lovely voice matched by
a lovely face may increase the compelling effect of the bard's songs.
This is known as charisma. Charisma is an innate ability, yet there
are certain ways to increase a bard's charisma, either magic or make-up
items.
