The ability called memorization, or mem for short, is a process by which
you may store up to six mage spells and cast them at a later time with
no mana cost. Some of the pre-requisites of memming are:

1. you must be resting
2. you can mem only mage spells
3. you can mem only three spells per spell level (for example: magic
missile & ventriloquate are both level one mage spells, so you can
only mem a combination of these two spells up to a total of three)
4. you must have ioun stones in your inventory (six to mem fully)
5. the number of spells you can mem is dependant upon your intelligence
8 int = 1 spell
12 int = 2 spells
14 int = 3 spells
16 int = 4 spells
18 int = 5 spells
19 int = 6 spells
20 int = 7 spells
22 int = 8 spells
25 int = 9 spells

Here is a sample example of memming:
First, I make sure I have as many ioun stones in my inventory as spells I
wish to memorize, up to a maximum of six. Then I put on as much
+intelligence equipment to boost myself up to an 18 int, so that I can
memorize six spells. I then type mem 'magic missile' three times and mem
'detect invisible' three times. As I type mem 'spellname', the spell's
cost is taken from my available mana. Now when I cast the spell at a
later time, the spell will come from memory and will cost no mana at the
time of casting. Memorized spells will always be cast first, so if I
cast magic missile four times, three will come from memory and one will
cost me the regular mana cost.
