The guild masters value and reward experience you gain through new adventures
and slaying new monsters. As such, by repeatedly slaying the same beasts you
will earn fewer experience points. After killing a large variety of other
creatures, the guild masters may again fully recognize a previous kill.

In order to maximize experience earned, you should vary the creatures you hunt.

As you increase in level, the guild masters retain a longer prejudice against
repeated slayings and also impose a stiffer penalty for failing to follow
their guidance.
