Whenever you kill a monster, you earn experience points. When enough
experience points are earned, you can gain a level in a guild. Things
you should know about experience points:

* When you damage a monster, you get a few experience points.
* When you kill a monster, you get many experience points.
* If you kill a monster of higher level than yourself, you get bonus
experience points. Killing a monster of lower level gains you
fewer experience points.
* To encourage characters to play in groups, the experience points
received will be increased when the slayer is in a group.

The 'score' command shows you how many experience points you currently
have. Using the 'level' command in a guild will tell you how many
experience points you need to get the next level. Experience points
are also known as xp.

The cost of gaining each experience level will depend on your class order
and on the specific level. To see tables displaying the experience and
gold required for each level, see help first, second, third, fourth, fifth,
sixth, seventh, eighth, and avatar.

The cost for leveling, for example, secondary 23, will be the same for any
character, independently of which particular class happens to be "second".
