You enter the game as a citizen of one of the capital towns. Leveling
costs less gold in your hometown. You can change your hometown by applying
to the Mayor or immigration officer of the town where you wish to move to.

Normally this process takes about one mud day to complete, and requires
a small fee. Be wary though, for the immigration officers are quite busy
and are known to lose applications from time to time.
