This skill is used to put the target into a nasty deathgrip. If
successful, the [[Monk]] grapples the target and deals large amounts of
damage for the first few rounds of combat. While the target is able to
attempt to strike back during this time, the grappling will severely limit
their ability to hit or flee.

You can't do many things while grappling; if you find an urgent need
to scratch your nose or something, you can end the deathgrip by typing
'release'.

Backstabbing is one of the thief skills and it can be practiced in the
guild up to 85% proficiency. This skill enables you to stab something in
the back with a piercing weapon, doing a great deal of damage if you
connect. The one drawback is, you can only backstab something once,
because its hard to sneak up on something after you've placed a pointy
stick in its back.

When you achieve level 25 thief, you are able to learn double
backstab. This means that instead of hitting once, you have the
possibility of hitting twice at one time. This ability improves as you
level.

Backstab cost 15 movement points for Thief primes and 20 movement points for
non-Thief primes. Thief prime characters are able to learn the Backstab skill
to 90% and also deal more damage with backstab compared to non-thief primes.
Warriors are the most basic fighting class available on SlothMUD. Their combat training, long practice sessions, high hit points, and elevated strength make them very formidable in hand-to-hand fighting. In addition, their ability to reach three and sometimes four attacks per round, it becomes quite obvious that these skills and pure class power are unmatched by any other class. However, they lack the ability to use magic of any sort and must depend on their other classes for these types of abilities.
